I NO HAS FLAVOR!

In preparation to setting up my desk with my Powerbook, I've seen the need to acquire external drives. This idea first came from the question of what was I going to do with the drives in my tower. One is a PATA and the other's a SATA. So I thought about getting enclosures and figured I might as well get SATA II enclosures with Firewire 800 ports since that's the only port on my Powerbook that would go unused.

First option, is this one since it has both FW and USB. but at $140, it made me look for something cheaper since I'd still need to get the drives and I'm aiming for either 500GB or 750GB drives.

Second option, this one , does the same thing as the first one except that it's FW800 only and it's $130.

Then there's the third option and that's to just buy a LaCie....

Wider Is Better!

It's currently hooked up to my tower running XP Pro (yes, it's legit), but since it has both a VGA plug and a DVI one, the DVI is hooked up to my Powerbook. And I can switch between them at the push of a button :D

And now for specs: 22" Widescreen 1680x1050, 700:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, viewing angles comparable to my Powerbook, and a dinky little 1.3 megapixel webcam on the bezel, like a Macbook :P

Overall, I'm rather happy with it, although sometimes I feel my Powerbook feels taxed by running both it and the Viewsonic....

Well, we'll see how it fares when it becomes a permanent part of the Powerbook when I get a MacBook Pro in the next refresh.

Wait.. What happened?

IMG_1066.JPG, originally uploaded by thecat16.

I seem to have a flickr Pro account now...

I haven't the slightest clue as to how this happened but I am thankful for it...

Actually, I do have a clue as to how this happened. Apparently Yahoo! Photos is shutting down and anyone with a Yahoo email account - mine is a SBC account - is getting 3 months of pro as a way of encouraging the transition to flickr...

Here's a press release

I'm kinda thinking of paying for it once it runs out. Flickr's been good to me although I don't use it to it's full extent...
